Film and Video Editors
Career Overview
Film and video editors change films and videos to make them more interesting to watch, and easier to follow. They have many duties that require very specific skills, and creativity. Among this list of duties is to transfer film to a digital format, and use computers to edit them. When you watch a film you experience a range of emotions based on the scenes being depicted. Film and video editors add words, music, and sound effects to sway the audience to feel the way that the editor feels they should. These editors study scripts, decide the order of scenes, meet with directors to discuss projects, and go through draft after draft until the video is just right.
